National qualifications frameworks have become a permanent feature of European vocational education and training systems, although the level of their implementation differs among countries.

National qualifications frameworks have been formally adopted in most countries. In some countries, the frameworks are being revised. However, work on the NQF does not end at the moment of implementation. In the 21 countries where work on the framework is at its most advanced level, the main challenge for some is to strengthen stakeholders' engagement and improve NQF visibility.
