A new version of the Europass platform was launched on July 1, 2020 as a result of the Decision of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU 2018/646 of April 18, 2018.

Users of the new platform can create a free profile, generate a CV or cover letter in a  selected format and save all documents in an online library. The platform also includes job offers and courses, which are automatically adapted to the skills and interests indicated in a person’s user profile. The new Europass also introduces the ability to use digital credentials, i.e. digital descriptions of attained learning outcomes and qualifications.

All information and functionalities on the Europass platform are available free of charge in 29 languages.

The launch of the new Europass platform coincides with the implementation by the European Commission of 4 initiatives supporting VET:

• European Skills Agenda for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience,
• Proposal for a Council Recommendation on vocational education and training (VET) for sustainable competitiveness, social fairness and resilience,
• Communication “Youth Employment Support: a bridge to jobs for the next generation”,
• Commission proposal for a Council Recommendation on a “Bridge to Jobs - reinforcing the Youth Guarantee”.
