The Ministry of National Education has submitted a proposed regulation for consultation that would introduce new professions in the Polish VET system.
The proposed changes stem from requests by the ministers responsible for the economy, agriculture, culture, computerisation, and transport. They are aimed at adapting vocational education to current and projected labour market needs. The new professions cover three sectors: precision mechanics, horticulture, and telecommunications, and include:
- Optoelectronics assembler
- Optoelectronics technician
- Ophthalmic optics technician
- Agro-horticulturalist
- Agro-horticulture technician
- Florist assistant
- Floral arrangement technician
- Gardening assistant (for students with mild intellectual disabilities)
- Green space gardener
- Landscape architecture and arboriculture technician
- Cybersecurity technician
The changes will come into force on September 1, 2026.
