Cedefop published the results of an explorative study on adult apprenticeships. The report’s authors indicate increasing adult participation in apprenticeships and point out the huge potential of this form of training.
The research included a literature review, interviews, as well as desk research. It covered all EU Member States together with Australia, Canada, Iceland and Norway. The report presents definitions and concepts relating to this form of training, distinctive features of adult apprenticeships, their benefits and challenges as well as the most recent trends in this field. The report also discusses different apprenticeship schemes, which are complemented by descriptions of the regulations present in over a dozen of countries.
