A new edition of the "Compendium: Vocational Education and Training and the Green Transition" has been published.
The 2024 edition continues the 2023 publication, presenting interesting initiatives in vocational education and training across Europe, with a particular focus on the ecological transition. This new edition not only expands on topics from the previous year but also identifies fresh examples of inspiring practices introduced by members of the Working Group on Vocational Education and Training and the Green Transition.
The Compendium showcases practices aligned with the principles of vocational excellence, which include a learner-centred approach, collaboration with a wide range of stakeholders, and the integration of research, innovation, and business, thus enhancing the appeal of this type of education.
The publication features 63 examples of activities from 22 European countries, grouped into four categories:
- Learning, teaching, and training
- Greening vocational education for the world of work
- Promoting synergies
- Joining forces for excellence in vocational education
Among the examples is the Polish project "Sectoral Agreement for Vocational Education and Training", which promotes the involvement of industry representatives in the development of vocational education and work-based learning. The project includes the review and update of core curricula in various sectors, taking into account the growing demand for "green" skills related to the ecological transition in the economy.
