According to the Polish Economic Institute (PIE), 20% of workers in Poland are employed in roles that are particularly susceptible to automation and replacement by artificial intelligence. The highest risk affects positions within the service, sales, and administrative sectors, where AI can take over routine and repetitive tasks.
Experts highlight that technological advancements are reshaping the labour market structure, necessitating adaptive measures, especially in training and skills development. PIE emphasises that alongside risks, AI also presents opportunities for job creation, particularly in roles requiring high levels of creativity and interpersonal skills. Employees in roles less vulnerable to automation typically possess qualifications demanding advanced social and creative competencies.
The Polish economy faces the challenge of implementing systemic solutions to enable labour market transformation. PIE calls upon educational institutions and employers to invest in workforce development, equipping staff to meet the demands of a new, digital economy.
